If I could talk to my younger self, I would say

There’s no rush to drink, you’re still a baby. You’re still a young girl, and there’s more things out there. You miss so much.

I have accepted that life is always going to have challenges. Because of the type of person I am, I will forever face hard falls because I jump in with both feet into anything, whether it’s a business opportunity, or a relationship, or being a mum, and a dad. To be honest my view of success is so different to what it was even a year ago.

And so, for me that comes with accepting I don’t need to run, and I think a lot of us say we’re free spirts, and it’s kind of spiritually bypassing the fact that we don’t want to face our humanness in a way.

There’s a song, what is it. I think it’s called Hero. I am a hero. So that song came on, and he turns to me and goes, “Mum, this song’s about you.” I said, “What do you mean by that?” He goes, “No matter what you go through, you always get up and you always make it okay.”

I think if that is the legacy that he’s got from me, is that no matter how bad it gets, and he has been so humbled because we’ve been living on $13 a week sometimes, and if he sees the positive in how I turn it around. I mean, that’s a legacy in itself. He can pass that onto people he knows, loves, cherishes.
